The tango duo plata y madera [Spanish for silver and wood] - was founded in 2015 by the musicians Pia Marei Hauser and Laila Kirchner. Both have been intensively dedicated to Argentine tango for years, have played in various ensembles and are active dancers.

Their shared passion for music and dance has brought this delightful, delicate combination of flute and cello to life. Their repertoire includes their own arrangements of well-known classics as well as original compositions that are easy to dance to and invite you to join them in the ronda at milongas.

In recent years, plata y madera has performed at a wide variety of events - from cosy cafés to various milongas and festivals - and always present a varied program of tangos, valses and milongas!
